LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Brittany Gubinski and Nick Economos of
Kingston Senior High School in Kingston, New York, upon the occasion of
their recognition by the TIMES HERALD-RECORD as 2009 Scholar Athletes

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord with
its long-standing traditions, to honor the achievements of its young
citizens and leaders of tomorrow, whose character and accomplishments
exemplify the ideals and values cherished by this great State and
nation; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Brittany
Gubinski and Nick Economos upon the occasion of their recognition by the
TIMES HERALD-RECORD as 2009 Scholar Athletes for their accomplishments
in the current school year; and
WHEREAS, Academically and athletically, Brittany Gubinski and Nick
Economos have distinguished themselves as students of superlative abili-
ty, talent, and maturity, establishing standards of excellence and
achievement, purposefulness of life, and responsibility rarely achieved
in youthful years; and
WHEREAS, Brittany Gubinski earned an outstanding grade point average
in high school, and has also participated in swimming; she is also a
member of the National Honor Society; and
WHEREAS, Nick Economos earned an outstanding grade point average in
high school, and participated in swimming; he is also a member of the
National Honor Society; and
WHEREAS, Outstanding role models for their classmates, Brittany Gubin-
ski and Nick Economos have brought honor to their families, school, and
community; and
WHEREAS, Brittany Gubinski and Nick Economos may stand with pride in
their achievements, experiencing the satisfaction of their labors and
the joy of their accomplishments, eager to face the challenge of new
experiences as they continue their education; and
WHEREAS, Brittany Gubinski and Nick Economos represent the potential
inherent in our most precious resource, our youth; this Legislative Body
is pleased to honor these students, recognizing their achievements and
the promise of their future; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Brittany Gubinski and Nick Economos upon the occasion of their
recognition by the TIMES HERALD-RECORD as 2009 Scholar Athletes and to
wish them well in their future endeavors; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Brittany Gubinski and Nick Economos.
