LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Dawn Smith upon the occasion of her
retirement as President of CSEA Local 425

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to acknowledge the
significant milestones in the distinguished careers of those esteemed
individuals who distinguish themselves in service to the cause of work-
ing men and women in the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Dawn Smith upon the occasion of her retirement as President of CSEA
Local 425; she will be honored on June 24, 2009, at Iron Worker's Hall
in West Seneca, New York; and
WHEREAS, A member of the Buffalo AFL-CIO Executive Board, Dawn Smith
has served in numerous leadership roles within CSEA Locals 425 and 427,
including Corresponding Secretary, Union Steward and President, the
position she has held since 1998; and
WHEREAS, Throughout her career with CSEA Locals 425 and 427, Dawn
Smith served with intelligence and caring dedication, continuously
striving to effectively fulfill the duties of her position; and
WHEREAS, Sincerely loved and greatly respected by all those with whom
she worked, Dawn Smith will be remembered for her honesty, integrity,
keen sense of duty and ability to show a unique grasp of human problems
in her official acts; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the great State of New York; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is pleased to have this opportunity to
express its highest admiration for Dawn Smith and to wish her continued
success in all of her future endeavors; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Dawn Smith upon the occasion of her retirement as President of
CSEA Local 425; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Dawn Smith.
