LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION mourning the death of Hillard H. Rozen, distin-
guished citizen and devoted member of his community
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
citizens of the State of New York whose lifework and civic endeavor
served to enhance the quality of life in their communities and the great
State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Hillard H. Rozen of Vestal, New York died on August 7, 2009,
at the age of 82; and
WHEREAS, A lifelong resident of Binghamton, New York, Hillard H. Rozen
was an active businessman in the community for over sixty years; he also
worked in real estate development, most notably with Kradro Realty and
Ripco Development; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Hillard H. Rozen was Executive Director and
co-founder of the Victor and Esther Rozen Foundation, which generously
supports many local charities, and has touched many lives in the region;
and
WHEREAS, Hillard H. Rozen is survived by his wife of 63 years, Muriel;
his daughter, Linda Twichell, son-in-law, Jon Twichell, and their chil-
dren Olubayo Evans and Benjamin Twichell; his son, Craig Rozen, daught-
er-in-law, Martha Rozen, and their sons Matthew, Michael and Andrew; his
daughter, Shari Rozen; his sister, Roselyn Rosenbaum, her husband, Bert
Rosenbaum, their children, Scott, Lenny, Bob and Suzanne; and his broth-
er Hersh Rozen, his wife, Beverly Rozen, and their children, Cory, Stev-
en and Eric, all of whom felt privileged to be a part of his life and
rejoiced in his many achievements; and
WHEREAS, Armed with a humanistic spirit, imbued with a sense of
compassion, and comforted by a loving family, Hillard H. Rozen leaves
behind a legacy which will long endure the passage of time and will
remain as a comforting memory to all he served and befriended; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
mourn the death of Hillard H. Rozen, distinguished citizen and devoted
member of his community; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the family of Hillard H. Rozen.
