LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Eric S. Blumencranz upon the occasion
of being named a Person of the Year by the Nassau County Law Enforcement
Program
WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to take note of and
publicly acknowledge individuals of remarkable integrity and character
who have inspired and brought pride to our majestic Empire State with
their strong contributions to the community and model citizenship; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Eric S. Blumencranz upon the occasion of being named a Person of the
Year by the Nassau County Law Enforcement Program; he will be honored on
October 5, 2009, at the Chateau Briand in Carle Place, New York; and
WHEREAS, Known throughout the insurance industry as worldwide leaders
in insurance brokerage services, Eric S. Blumencranz and his brother,
Marc, have worked together for the past 19 years, expanding their fami-
ly-owned business in Jericho, New York, into one of the largest private-
ly-held firms in the United States; and
WHEREAS, The Executive Vice President and Principal of the BWD Group,
Eric S. Blumencranz manages the firm's multi-million dollar group bene-
fits and life insurance practices, which have assumed key roles in the
individual and employee benefits markets in the nation under his leader-
ship; he also serves on the Board of Directors of Alpine Capital Bank;
and
WHEREAS, In addition to participating in numerous charitable events
and organizations sponsored by the BWD Group, Eric S. Blumencranz has
been a loyal supporter and active volunteer of the North Shore-Long
Island Jewish Health System for more than a decade, where he is a member
of the Board of Trustees, as well as Vice Chair of the Risk Retention
Group, Member Finance Committee and Committee on Quality; he previously
served as a New Leadership Division Board Member, Golf Committee Chair
and on Charity Auction Committees; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, Eric S. Blumencranz is dedicated to the contin-
ued expansion of the Child Life and Education Services Program which
offers a wide range of vital support services to seriously ill children
and their families; and
WHEREAS, With Eric S. Blumencranz throughout have been his wife, Lisa,
and their three children, Max, Jake and Luke, all of whom feel privi-
leged to be a part of his life and rejoice in his many achievements; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Eric S. Blumencranz upon the occasion of being named a Person of
the Year by the Nassau County Law Enforcement Program, and wish him
continued success in all of his future endeavors; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Eric S. Blumencranz.
