LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Anna M. Bohne upon the occasion of
her 101st Birthday
WHEREAS, Truly an extraordinary person who has led an exemplary life
of humanitarian service, Anna Bohne is defined by simple modesty and a
boundless energy that is amazing and inspiring; and
WHEREAS, Anna Yaeger was born on November 9, 1908; and
WHEREAS, This exceptional centenarian, with her zest for life, has
inspired and enhanced the lives of her family and friends; and
WHEREAS, This distinguished woman has experienced the incredible joys
and sorrows characteristic of and reserved for those with the stamina
and courage to savor a full life; and
WHEREAS, Anna Bohne's current home is in Mastic Beach, New York, and
was built by her father in 1910 on Long Island; she married Fred Bohne
in 1935, and they lived their whole married life in Queens while main-
taining the home in Mastic Beach for summer excursions; Anna remodeled
the Mastic Beach home in 1980 and has lived there permanently ever
since; and
WHEREAS, Anna Bohne gave birth to three children, Frederick, Diane,
and Bonnie, and has a total of 41 grandchildren, great-grandchildren,
nieces, nephews, grand and great-grand nieces and nephews; a proud New
Yorker who has lived there all of her life, Anna is the last remaining
sibling of the Yaeger family; and
WHEREAS, This beloved lady has enriched the lives of those around her
through her joyous and sincere love for others and through the quiescent
charm and wisdom which comes only from a fullness of years; and
WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to publicly recog-
nize those who have reached such a remarkable age and who have witnessed
and celebrated the innovations, cultural developments and awesome
achievements of this country during the last century, while themselves
contributing to the growth and excellence of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Anna Bohne upon the occasion of her 101st Birthday; and be
it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Anna M. Bohne.
