LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Past Grand Knight Michael Fiore upon
the occasion of his designation for special honor by Bellmore Council
No. 3689, Knights of Columbus, Bellmore, New York on January 16, 2010

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Michael Fiore has given not only of his time and energies but
also of his competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently has
been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Past Grand
Knight Michael Fiore upon the occasion of his designation for special
honor by Bellmore Council No. 3689, Knights of Columbus, Bellmore, New
York, to be celebrated on Saturday, January 16, 2010, at a Testimonial
Dinner Dance at the Bellmore Columbus Club, Bellmore, New York; and
WHEREAS, The Knights of Columbus is an international Catholic organ-
ization with over 1.7 million members worldwide; it is dedicated to
working for the Catholic Church, community, and fellow man; each year
the Knights of Columbus contributes several million dollars and well
over 60 million hours of personal service to charitable and benevolent
activities; and
WHEREAS, Michael Fiore has been called upon to contribute his time and
talents to the Knights of Columbus and to countless other civic and
charitable endeavors, and has always given of himself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, Michael Fiore's active involvement in the Bellmore community
and in the Knights of Columbus has benefited both; he has served the
Knights of Columbus in numerous capacities, including Grand Knight of
Bellmore Council No. 3689; he has served ably in that position and has
helped to make Bellmore Council No. 3689 an organization recognized with
pride throughout the community; and
WHEREAS, Michael Fiore's service as Grand Knight has been character-
ized by his exemplary leadership and has been instrumental in the
continued success of Bellmore Council No. 3689; he has accomplished many
deeds of charity, unity, fraternity and patriotism in keeping with the
mission of the Knights of Columbus and has been a strong advocate of its
programs and of community awareness; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his Knights of Columbus
service, a period of constructive involvement, Past Grand Knight Michael
Fiore has stood constant in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, With him throughout has been his wife, Cathe, who feels priv-
ileged to be a part of his life and rejoices in his achievements; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the wellbeing and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Past Grand Knight Michael Fiore upon the occasion of his desig-
nation for special honor by Bellmore Council No. 3689, Knights of Colum-
bus, Bellmore, New York on January 16, 2010; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Michael Fiore, 2499 Washington Blvd, North Bellmore, New
York.
