LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Bob Rigby upon the occasion of his
designation for special recognition as recipient of the 2010 Citizen of
the Year Award by the West Seneca Chamber of Commerce

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are enhanced by the concerned and dedicated efforts of individuals that
generously contribute to the welfare of the community and its citizenry;
and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to congratu-
late Bob Rigby upon the occasion of his designation for special recogni-
tion as recipient of the 2010 Citizen of the Year Award by the West
Seneca Chamber of Commerce; this auspicious occasion will be celebrated,
on Saturday, February 27, 2010; and
WHEREAS, Bob Rigby, a proud resident of West Seneca, New York, since
1970, is an Associate Broker for Realty USA in West Seneca; and
WHEREAS, Active in the Cazenovia Park Hockey Association from the age
of 16, Bob Rigby has served as its coach and league administrator; he
initiated the formation of the Board of Directors of the Association and
served as President and became part of the first group honored on the
Wall of Fame; during his involvement with the Association its partic-
ipation grew from 60 players aged 10-12 years old to over 220 players
aged 7 to 16; and
WHEREAS, Bob Rigby is also the co-founder and goalie of the Buffalo
State Hockey Club, part of the Finger Lakes Collegiate Hockey League;
and
WHEREAS, From 1968 to 1974, Bob Rigby was Director, Handicap Chair and
Secretary of the Cazenovia Golf Course Men's Club; in 1969-1981, he was
teacher, class moderator, audio-visual director and golf coach at St.
Mary's High School in Lancaster, New York, and is a volunteer instructor
for the First Tee of Western New York program; and
WHEREAS, A member of the West Seneca Chamber of Commerce since 1987,
Bob Rigby has served as a Director, Officer and as its President in
1994, and has represented the Chamber as a Director of the West Seneca
Development Corporation, serving as its President for 10 years; he
received the Chamber's Member of the Year Award in 2006; and
WHEREAS, A member of the Buffalo-Niagara Association of Realtors from
1988 to date, Bob Rigby won the Realtor Associate of the Year Award in
2008; he has served on and chaired numerous committees of the Associ-
ation and was elected a Director and Vice President and served as the
chair of the Agents' Day event for its 2900 members in 2007; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Bob Rigby has been honored as the recipient of
both the Stovroff Realtors and Realty USA's Community Service Awards;
and
WHEREAS, A member of the Rotary Club of West Seneca since 2003, Bob
Rigby serves as the Club's President and is a recipient of the presti-
gious Paul Harris Fellow Award, the most respected worldwide Rotarian
award; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when an indi-
vidual of such noble aims and accomplishments is brought to our atten-
tion, he should be recognized by all the citizens of this great Empire
State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Bob Rigby upon the occasion of his designation for special
recognition as recipient of the 2010 Citizen of the Year Award by the
West Seneca Chamber of Commerce; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Bob Rigby, 38 Cathedral Street, West Seneca, New York 14224.
