LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending the Nanuet High School Jazz Knights
upon the occasion of its participation in Music In Our Schools Month on
March 15, 2010

WHEREAS, The administrators of Nanuet High School are committed to
actively promoting and nurturing a comprehensive music program for all
of its students; and
WHEREAS, Those same administrators have been supportive, actively
encouraging music program staff to devote their time and energy to
developing the talents of their students; and
WHEREAS, The Jazz Knights of Nanuet High School, comprised of students
of the highest musical and academic caliber, will be performing on
Monday, March 15, 2010, at the Empire State Plaza in Albany, in cele-
bration of Music In Our Schools Month; and
WHEREAS, Under the luminous leadership of Director Walter Miller, the
Nanuet High School Jazz Knights consists of: Alto Saxophone - Jennifer
Boyd, Andrew Hawkins, Grant Jardine, Dorothy Manievch, Brian Purvis;
Tenor Saxophone - April Camacho, Kyle Nonnon, Jonah Silverstone; Bari-
tone Saxophone - James Roth; Trombone - Eric Berk, Neil Heinzer, Andrew
Klock, Sean Selinske, Kristopher Siriban; Trumpet - Brian Dolan, Jacque-
line Ferro, Sean Flynn, Tara Flynn, Stephon Khan, Kevin Quill, Mark
Siriban, John Sweet, Andrew Weiss; Rhythm Section - Joshua Burger, Samu-
el Fein, Vasia Giannakakos, Walter Halvorsen, Joseph Kuhn, Amanda
Lowney, Christopher Pandalfo, Eve Quinn, and Ryan Wilhelm; and
WHEREAS, The New York State School Music Association sponsors this
event and has helped it to evolve from a New York State Day into a
month-long national observance; and
WHEREAS, Talent, dedication, and countless hours of practice have made
the Nanuet High School Jazz Knights the outstanding ensemble it is
today; and
WHEREAS, The members work hard at their music rehearsals, classroom
assignments and practice sessions, fully aware that the amount of time
and energy they are willing to expend directly affects the quality of
their music; and
WHEREAS, The talented members of the Nanuet High School Jazz Knights,
along with their parents and teachers, can be justifiably proud of their
musical achievements and their participation in Music In Our Schools
Month; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body extend a warm welcome to the
staff and students of the Nanuet High School Jazz Knights as they visit
Albany for their performance at the Empire State Plaza; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the Nanuet High School Jazz Knights.
