LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Saverio Leone upon the occasion of his
designation for special recognition by the Federation of Italian-Ameri-
can Organizations of Brooklyn Ltd.

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and pay
tribute to those individuals within the Empire State who have made
strong contributions to their communities and who inspire others through
their model citizenry; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Saverio Leone
upon the occasion of his designation for special recognition by the
Federation of Italian-American Organizations of Brooklyn Ltd., to be
celebrated on Sunday, March 21, 2010, at El Caribe Country Club in
Brooklyn, New York; and
WHEREAS, Saverio Leone was raised and currently resides in the
Bensonhurst/Gravesend section of Brooklyn; he is also a product of the
local catholic schools; and
WHEREAS, Saverio Leone attended Xaverian High School and obtained his
undergraduate training at Brooklyn's Polytechnic University from which
he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering; after
Brooklyn Polytechnic, he went on to receive an MBA in Management from
St. John's University; and
WHEREAS, A licensed Professional Engineer in the state of New York,
Saverio Leone is currently the Senior Program Manager for the World
Trade Center Construction Group responsible for the design and
construction of the new Path Station in lower Manhattan; during the past
18 years as a construction administrator and manager for the Port
Authority of New York and New Jersey, he has led numerous construction
and transportation projects at the Port Authority's Airports, Bus Termi-
nals, Bridges and the World Trade Center; and
WHEREAS, With his areas of expertise in Geotechnical and Civil Engi-
neering, Saverio Leone has successfully completed numerous projects,
including the Jamaica Air Train Terminal and the George Washington
Bridge Renovation; and
WHEREAS, In 2008, Saverio Leone extended his community volunteerism by
becoming a leading member of the committee to create the first Italian
American Cultural Community Center in the City of New York; his profes-
sional credentials have provided the Federation with the very important
professional credibility requested by City, State and Federal agencies;
and
WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his wife, Felicia, and their
daughter, Nina, both of whom feel privileged to be a part of his life
and rejoice in his achievements; and
WHEREAS, A true asset to society, Saverio Leone's distinguished record
merits the recognition and respectful tribute of this Legislative Body;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Saverio Leone upon the occasion of his designation for special
recognition by the Federation of Italian-American Organizations of
Brooklyn Ltd.; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Saverio Leone.
