LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Aniello J. "Neil" Callari upon the occa-
sion of his induction into the Bishop Ford Central Catholic High School
Hall of Fame on April 28, 2010

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend individuals who have distinguished themselves in their chosen
field of endeavor, in their community, or through a lifetime of good
citizenship; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Aniello J. "Neil" Callari upon the occasion of his induction into the
Bishop Ford Central Catholic High School Hall of Fame at the school's
2010 Charter Dinner, to be held at the Grand Ballroom at the Dyker Beach
Golf Course in Brooklyn on Wednesday, April 28, 2010; and
WHEREAS, Bishop Ford Central Catholic High School, Brooklyn, New York,
has a proud tradition of a strong educational program, founded in faith
and encouraging personal and educational development, coupled with
commitment to faith and to engaged citizenship; and
WHEREAS, The Bishop Ford Central Catholic High School Hall of Fame
honors outstanding members of the Bishop Ford family and community who
exemplify and support Bishop Ford's mission to educate young men and
women and whose lives and accomplishments exemplify the tenets of the
school; and
WHEREAS, Aniello J. "Neil" Callari, Class of 1969 and owner of Brook-
lyn Media, Inc., truly merits such recognition; and
WHEREAS, Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Neil Callari now lives
on Brooklyn Street in Austin, Texas, where his company, Brooklyn Media,
Inc., produces advertising materials; and
WHEREAS, Neil Callari always wanted a career as an artist; as with all
freshmen, when he entered Bishop Ford in 1965, he had to take the obli-
gatory Art Class, taught by Brother Jonathan Ringkamp, once a week; at
the end of his freshman year, when the school introduced the first Art
Majors Program in a Catholic high school, Neil Callari signed up on the
spot; and
WHEREAS, In the following years, he applied himself almost exclusively
to art; he studied art under Brother Jonathan and Deloris Creagan and
was an active member of Bishop Ford's Art and Drama Clubs; and
WHEREAS, After graduation, he attended The School of Visual Arts in
New York City, from which he graduated with honors; and
WHEREAS, He entered the advertising industry and went on to become an
award-winning writer, designer, director and producer of hundreds of
print ads and radio and television commercials and to teach advertising
at his alma mater, The School of Visual Arts, for several years; and
WHEREAS, Neil Callari's induction into the Bishop Ford Central Cathol-
ic High School Hall of Fame is a well-deserved and fitting recognition
of his achievements and contributions; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Aniello J. "Neil" Callari upon the occasion of his induction into
the Bishop Ford Central Catholic High School Hall of Fame on April 28,
2010; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Aniello J. Callari.
