LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Louise Formon D'Agosta upon the occasion
of her induction into the Rockland County Track and Field Hall of Fame

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to recognize those organ-
izations and individuals which have so distinguished themselves in
athletics as to bring great pride to the citizens of their community;
and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
those exemplary athletes who excel in athletics, distinguishing them-
selves through notable achievements and representing the great Empire
State with pride and determination; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Louise Formon
D'Agosta upon the occasion of her induction into the Rockland County
Track and Field Hall of Fame at the seventh annual induction dinner on
Saturday, May 15, 2010, in Pomona, New York; and
WHEREAS, Louise D'Agosta of the Tappan Zee High School Class of 1978,
was one of the pioneers in the girls distance runners from Rockland
County; outdoors, she set County records in the mile (5:18.7), and in
the 880 (2:19.8); while indoors, she established County records in the
880, 1,000, 1,500 and the mile; and
WHEREAS, In her athletic career, Louise D'Agosta won five County cham-
pionships and three Section 9 titles; and
WHEREAS, A gifted athlete, Louise Formon D'Agosta has become a role
model in the sport of track and field; her character and achievements
stand as a sterling example and inspiration to all who would aspire to
success; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Louise Formon D'Agosta upon the occasion of her induction into the
Rockland County Track and Field Hall of Fame; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Louise Formon D'Agosta.
