LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Judith Omidvaran for receiving the
Community Partnership Award from the Westchester ARC

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Judith Omidvaran has given not only of her time and energies
but also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently
has been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Judith Omid-
varan for receiving the Community Partnership Award from the Westchester
ARC on Tuesday, June 1, 2010; and
WHEREAS, This special award is given each year to a person who has
demonstrated exceptional support for people on the spectrum of autism;
and
WHEREAS, Judith Omidvaran's persistence and leadership has made the
"Support Group for Families of Adults with Asperger's Syndrome and High
Functioning Autism" a lifeline for many families; the consistent sched-
uling of meetings and high quality presentations has provided families a
place for answers along with a peer group; and
WHEREAS, As a natural outgrowth, Judith Omidvaran has moved these
supportive conversations into a discussion of policy and practice as the
co-chair of the Westchester County Autism Advisory Committee; and
WHEREAS, Judith Omidvaran has been called upon to contribute her time
and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has always
given of herself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Judith Omidvaran has stood constant
in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Judith Omidvaran has displayed
throughout her life; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Judith Omidvaran for receiving the Community Partnership Award
from the Westchester ARC; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Judith Omidvaran.
