LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Judith Boudreau upon the occasion of
her retirement after 20 years of dedicated service to Stony Brook
University

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize those
esteemed individuals whose professional lives and civic endeavors serve
to enhance the stature of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Judith Boudreau upon the occasion of her retirement after 20 years of
dedicated service to Stony Brook University to be recognized at a
"Career Celebration" party on Sunday, May 3, 2009; and
WHEREAS, A woman of singular distinction, Judith Boudreau has contin-
ually demonstrated extreme competence, extraordinary intelligence, and
diligent leadership throughout her tenure at Stony Brook College as
Assistant to the Assistant Vice President for Governmental Relations;
and
WHEREAS, Judith Boudreau is a native New Yorker, who was born and
raised in Massapequa, Long Island; upon graduation from high school, she
pursued additional studies at C.W. Post College in Brookville, New York;
and
WHEREAS, In 1963, Judith Boudreau took a position with Kimball
Systems, a division of Litton Industries; as assistant to the Plant
Manager, she oversaw the functioning of 12 additional managers and
assumed increased responsibilities regarding the day-to-day operations,
producing various reports, contracts, and correspondence; and
WHEREAS, After raising her family, Judith Boudreau returned to work
and obtained her real estate license, serving for several years as a
liaison for a seven office real estate firm; and
WHEREAS, In 1989, Judith Boudreau began her career with Stony Brook
University in its Office of Undergraduate Studies; she immediately
proved to be an outstanding worker and was promoted to the position of
Assistant to the Assistant Vice President for Governmental Relations;
and
WHEREAS, Judith Boudreau's competence, congenial nature and profes-
sionalism have been tremendous assets to the University throughout the
years; each year, she is responsible for arranging the Annual Stony
Brook Day in Albany, New York, where she coordinates plans, logistics
and meals for more than 1,000 participants; and
WHEREAS, Throughout her esteemed career, Judith Boudreau has rendered
faithful, conscientious and valuable service to Stony Brook University,
earning the admiration, esteem and affection of her colleagues; and
WHEREAS, In her capacity as Assistant to the Assistant Vice President
of Governmental Relations, Judith Boudreau has served with loyalty,
honor and distinction, was governed by a keen sense of duty and always
showed a unique grasp of human problems in her official acts; and
WHEREAS, With her throughout have been her husband, Bob Boudreau, her
three daughters, Kimberly, Denise and Danielle, and their spouses,
Steve, Thomas and Alan, as well as her six grandchildren, Evan, Brandon,
Ryan, Dylan, Christopher and Lauren, all of whom feel privileged to be a
part of her life and rejoice in her achievements; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Judith Boudreau upon the occasion of her retirement after 20

years of dedicated service to Stony Brook University, and for her
significant contributions to education in New York State; and to wish
her continued success in all of her future endeavors; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Judith Boudreau.
