LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Jane Lindau upon the occasion of her
designation for special recognition

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Jane Lindau has given not only of her time and energies but
also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently has
been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Jane Lindau
upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition, to be
celebrated on Thursday, April 14, 2011, at Crabtree's Kittle House; and
WHEREAS, Jane Lindau is being acknowledged for her dedication and many
years of distinguished service to the people of New Castle, New York;
and
WHEREAS, Jane Lindau has been called upon to contribute her time and
talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has always given
of herself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Jane Lindau has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Jane Lindau is the Director of Senior Citizen's Housing at
Westchester Residential Opportunities, a HUD certified Housing not-for-
profit in White Plains; the Senior Housing Department at Westchester
Residential Opportunities helps Westchester residents age 60 and older
with housing issues, including foreclosure counseling and homelessness
prevention; and
WHEREAS, Prior to joining Westchester Residential Opportunities in
2008, Jane Lindau spent 20 years in banking at ING, Citibank and Chase;
she has served in many volunteer positions during her 21 years in Chap-
paqua; she is a former Co-chair, Secretary and a current District Leader
of the New Castle Committee, and she also serves on New Castle's Land-
marks Advisory Committee; and
WHEREAS, Jane Lindau is a co-founder of New Castle's Task Force on
Fair and Affordable Housing, and she is a former Trustee, House Tour
Chair and Benefit Chair for the New Castle Historical Society; she has
also served on the Executive Board of the Chappaqua PTA, as a board
member and coach for Greeley Youth Lacrosse, and as a Tufts University
Alumni Interviewer; and
WHEREAS, With her throughout have been her husband, Dan, and their
children, Julia, Ned, and Annabel, all of whom feel privileged to be a
part of her life and rejoice in her achievements; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Jane Lindau has displayed throughout
her life; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Jane Lindau upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Jane Lindau.
