LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending the Little Neck-Douglaston Community
Ambulance Corps upon the occasion of hosting its EMS Celebration Day

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and pay
tribute to those organizations within the State of New York which
provide vital emergency medical rescue services; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
the Little Neck-Douglaston Community Ambulance Corps upon the occasion
of hosting its EMS Celebration Day on Saturday, May 21, 2011, at its
headquarters in Little Falls, New York; and
WHEREAS, The Little Neck-Douglaston Community Ambulance Corps, a
volunteer, not-for-profit organization, will be observing its EMS Cele-
bration Day in conjunction with National EMS Week; and
WHEREAS, On this most auspicious day, the Little Neck-Douglaston
Community Ambulance Corps will host a variety of events including equip-
ment demonstrations, ambulance tours, headquarter tours, raffles, health
and safety education, giveaways, and free food and drinks; and
WHEREAS, Volunteer ambulance corps are an important part of the safety
net of America's healthcare system; they provide lifesaving care to
those in need, 24 hours a day, seven days a week; and
WHEREAS, Access to quality emergency care dramatically improves the
survival and recovery rate of those who experience sudden illness or
injury; since 1958, the Little Neck-Douglaston Community Ambulance
Corps' members have worked tirelessly to bring the best quality of care
to the residents of their local community; and
WHEREAS, Each and every member involved with the Little Neck-Dougla-
ston Community Ambulance Corps, past and present, are deserving of the
highest commendation for their contributions to the noble missions of
this lifesaving organization; and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body that when organiza-
tions of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the Little Neck-Douglaston Community Ambulance Corps upon the
occasion of hosting its EMS Celebration Day; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Louis Calderon, RN, President, the Little Neck-Douglaston
Community Ambulance Corps, 42-18 Marathon Parkway, Little Neck, New York
11363.
