LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending the 2011 YWCA Orange County Tribute to
Women Honorees, who will be recognized on May 11, 2011

WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to take note of and
publicly acknowledge individuals of remarkable integrity and character
who have inspired and brought pride to our majestic Empire State with
their strong contributions to the community and model citizenship; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
the 2011 YWCA Orange County Tribute to Women Honorees, who will be
recognized on Wednesday, May 11, 2011, at the Annual Tribute to Women of
Achievement Dinner at Anthony's Pier 9 in New Windsor, New York; and
WHEREAS, The Tribute to Women of Achievement of Orange County is an
organization that recognizes the importance of the commitments of Orange
County women; the eight women being recognized this year have truly
excelled in their personal and professional commitment to the community;
and
WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, The 2011 YWCA Orange County Tribute to Women Honorees have
given not only of their time and energies but also of their competence,
intelligence and leadership and consequently have been designated for
this special tribute; and
WHEREAS, The 2011 YWCA Orange County Tribute to Women Honorees are:

Business Trish Fisher
Communications Cecille Jones
Health and Human Services Maureen Torelli
Public Service Karen Van Houten Minogue
Education Florence Hannes

WHEREAS, Furthermore, the YWCA Orange County bestowed the Woman of the
Future honor to Aisling Cuffe and the Bobbie A. Lahey Memorial Award for
Volunteer Services to Dr. Michelle Winchester Vega; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the 2011 YWCA Orange County Tribute to Women Honorees, who will
be recognized on May 11, 2011; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the aforementioned 2011 YWCA Orange County Tribute to Women
Honorees.
