LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring John Boyle upon the occasion of his
designation as the recipient of the Orange-Ulster BOCES School Library
System Advisory Council's 2011 Administrator of the Year Award

WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to take note of and
publicly acknowledge individuals of remarkable integrity and character
whose endeavors have enhanced the quality of education in the great
State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor John
Boyle upon the occasion of his designation as the recipient of the
Orange-Ulster BOCES School Library System Advisory Council's 2011 Admin-
istrator of the Year Award; and
WHEREAS, This esteemed and well-deserved award will be presented to
John Boyle at the Orange-Ulster BOCES School Library System's Awards
Luncheon, to be held at the Orange-Ulster BOCES Career and Technical
Center in Goshen, New York on Friday, May 13, 2011; and
WHEREAS, Each year, the School Library System Advisory Council proudly
honors an administrator who has shown outstanding leadership in promot-
ing school librarianship; with his proven leadership abilities and his
evident dedication to school libraries, John Boyle is the quintessential
selection for this most prestigious honor; and
WHEREAS, John Boyle was raised in Pine Bush and attended Crispell
Middle School in Orange County's Pinebush Central School District, where
he in now serving with distinction as the school's principal; and
WHEREAS, John Boyle still lives in the Pine Bush Central School
District and his children will attend the same schools as he did as a
child; and
WHEREAS, When he was growing up, his mother was a paraprofessional in
the library at E. J. Russell Elementary School; the significant amount
of time he spent there helped to foster his love of and commitment to
libraries; and
WHEREAS, John Boyle's career in education has already spanned 20
years; he earned a bachelor's degree from St. Bonaventure University and
was a Special Education teacher in the Washingtonville Central School
District, also in Orange County, for nine years; and
WHEREAS, He received a master's degree and his administrative certif-
ication from the State University of New York at New Paltz and is
currently attending Columbia University doing additional graduate work
in education; and
WHEREAS, John Boyle has worked in the Pine Bush Central School
District for 10 years and was, previously, the assistant principal at
the district's Circleville Elementary School; and
WHEREAS, An exemplary leader, John Boyle has brought an uncompromising
standard of excellence to his work and a warm sense of caring concern
for every young person and every member of the faculty and staff at the
schools where he has served; and
WHEREAS, John Boyle has clearly had an enduring impact on the youth of
the Pine Bush Central School District and on the community as a whole
and, accordingly, merits recognition and applause for his impressive
dedication to others; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor John Boyle upon the occasion of his designation as the recipient
of the Orange-Ulster BOCES School Library System Advisory Council's 2011
Administrator of the Year Award on May 13, 2011; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to John Boyle.
