LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Edward Troiano upon the occasion of his
induction into the Schalmont High School Alumni Wall of Distinction

WHEREAS, The State of New York takes great pride in acknowledging its
esteemed residents who have distinguished themselves in their community;
and
WHEREAS, Edward Troiano will be inducted into the Schalmont High
School Alumni Wall of Distinction during a ceremony at the Schalmont
High School Library on June 2, 2011; and
WHEREAS, Edward graduated from Schalmont High School in 1980; and
WHEREAS, During his high school career, he was a member of the foot-
ball team and soccer team; and
WHEREAS, Edward earned a Bachelor's degree from the University of
Buffalo and a Master's degree from RPI; and
WHEREAS, He has enjoyed a prestigious career as a mechanical engineer
for the United States Army, Benet Laboratories, since 1984; and
WHEREAS, Edward holds three patents and one provisional patent; and
WHEREAS, He has authored and co-authored more than 100 published arti-
cles; and
WHEREAS, Edward has been twice honored with the U.S. Army Research and
Development Achievement Award recognizing outstanding scientific and
engineering achievement and technical leadership; and
WHEREAS, He began volunteering at a young age at his church and local
soup kitchen, and continues to contribute his time to Volunteers in
Mission, as a former volunteer firefighter, and as a ski patroller at
both Gore Mountain and Maple Ski Ridge; and
WHEREAS, Edward is a loving husband to his wife, Lynn, and proud step-
father to Kevin and Rene; and
WHEREAS, He is a wonderful inspiration and role model to current
Schalmont students, and his well-deserved induction into the Schalmont
High School Alumni Wall of Distinction is a fitting and lasting tribute
to his legacy; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Edward Troiano upon the occasion of his induction into the Schal-
mont High School Alumni Wall of Distinction; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Edward Troiano.
