LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Cierrah Forte for her academic
achievements and excellence

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to act, in accord with
its long-standing traditions, honoring the youth of today, and leaders
of tomorrow, whose character and achievements best exemplify the ideals
and values cherished by this great State and Nation; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Cierrah Forte for her academic achievements and excellence; and
WHEREAS, Cierrah Forte is a Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk High School
student who is graduating in June of 2011; she has been in STARS Help-
ers, an after school community service program, for four years as well
as activities such as track and cheerleading; and
WHEREAS, Diligent in her studies, Cierrah Forte has worked very hard
and has been on the high school honor roll every year; and
WHEREAS, Last year, Cierrah Forte was one of only four Capital
District students selected to participate in Health Quest, a highly
competitive program offered through the Hudson-Mohawk Area Health Educa-
tion Center; she completed 180 hours of technical care associate paid
summer training at St. Peter's Hospital and became certified; and
WHEREAS, Cierrah Forte was one of only five Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk
students selected to participate in the New Visions nursing program, a
12-student, 5 school honors program where she is earning 6 college cred-
its from Sage College and gaining knowledge and experience in the health
care field; and
WHEREAS, This remarkable young woman has been accepted into the
competitive four-year nursing program at SUNY Plattsburgh for the Fall
2011 semester; and
WHEREAS, Cierrah Forte has been a leader and role model among her
peers, showing them that post-secondary education is attainable if they
work hard and pursue their dreams; and
WHEREAS, With her sense of civic duty and her commitment to others,
Cierrah Forte represents the best development of the potential which is
inherent in our most precious resource, our youth; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Cierrah Forte for her academic achievements and excellence; and
be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Cierrah Forte.
