LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Angela Goldman upon the occasion of her
retirement after many years of distinguished service to the Nassau Coun-
ty Police Department's Fifth District
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body seeks to acknowledge those individuals
whose professional lives and civic endeavors serve to enhance the stat-
ure of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, For the past nine years, Angela Goldman rendered faithful,
conscientious and valuable service to Nassau County Police Department's
Fifth District; she will officially retire on Wednesday, June 29, 2011;
and
WHEREAS, In her capacity as Crossing Guard, Angela Goldman served with
loyalty, honor and distinction; she also served as a vital and integral
part of the educational system and of the daily lives of children she
assisted; and
WHEREAS, Since beginning her position in December of 1991, Angela
Goldman has been responsible for safely crossing children both prior to
and at the conclusion of each school day; and
WHEREAS, Angela Goldman has been a welcome and familiar part of each
child's day; she has performed an outstanding job of protecting children
from the hazards of crossing the street and instructing children on how
to cross a street safely when they are alone or an adult is not avail-
able to assist; and
WHEREAS, In her official acts, Angela Goldman was governed by a keen
sense of duty and always showed a unique grasp of human problems; and
WHEREAS, During her tenure with Nassau County Police Department's
Fifth District, Angela Goldman earned the admiration, esteem and
affection of her colleagues; and
WHEREAS, It is fitting and proper to acknowledge and express appreci-
ation for the labors of these dedicated individuals whose contribution
to the protection of our children, though not often recognized, is
significant; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Angela Goldman upon the occasion of her retirement after nine
years of distinguished service; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Angela Goldman.
