LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Gloria Ciolli upon the occasion of her
designation by the Suffolk County Women's Business Enterprise Coalition
as a 2011 recipient of its Linda Jasper/Sally Ann Slacke Memorial Award

WHEREAS, Individuals who distinguish themselves in their profession and
in service to their community are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Gloria Ciolli has given not only of her time and energies but
also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently has
been designated for special recognition by the Suffolk County Women's
Business Enterprise Coalition (SCWBEC); and
WHEREAS, Established in 1990, the Suffolk County Women's Business
Enterprise Coalition has 600 members and serves all women business
owners who either reside or maintain their business within Suffolk Coun-
ty; and
WHEREAS, Twice annually the Suffolk County Women's Business Enterprise
Coalition's Research and Education Fund honors outstanding Suffolk Coun-
ty women business owners with its Linda Jasper/Sally Ann Slacke Memorial
Award; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Gloria Ciolli
upon the occasion of her designation by the Suffolk County Women's Busi-
ness Enterprise Coalition as a 2011 recipient of its Linda Jasper/Sally
Ann Slacke Memorial Award in recognition of the exemplary business model
her business, Mediation and Collaborative Action Group, presents; and
WHEREAS, Mediation and Collaborative Action Group of Melville, New
York, is comprised of a group of professionals who have joined together
to develop a unique collaborative team process to assist disputing indi-
viduals and businesses; and
WHEREAS, They have combined their expertise in the fields of taxation,
financial analysis, divorce, mediation and psycho-dynamics, lessening
the financial and emotional burdens of disputes and providing individ-
uals and businesses with the opportunity and ability to negotiate in a
neutral and controlled environment without the threat of litigation; and
WHEREAS, Gloria Ciolli, MSW, CSW, ACSW, LMSW, is a licensed social
worker and conflict specialist in practice for more than 20 years in the
Long Island area; her work with individuals, couples, families and small
business owners has focused on relationship issues; she is actively
involved in mediation and is a neutral family specialist working within
the collaborative team approach; and
WHEREAS, As a conflict and family specialist, Gloria Ciolli assists
clients to effectively manage their emotions throughout the
mediation/collaborative process, resulting in better communication
skills; her skills enhance the opportunity for a solution settlement
which meets the interests of both parties; and
WHEREAS, Gloria Ciolli was the President and founder of 9th Phase
Consulting, a consulting and lecturing company which merged with Medi-
ation and Collaborative Group in January 2009; and
WHEREAS, Active in her profession, Gloria Ciolli is a member of the
National Association of Social Workers; Association of Conflict Resol-
ution, New York Chapter; New York State Council of Divorce Mediation;
International Academy of Collaborative Professionals; and the New York
Association of Collaborative Professionals and is listed in INTERNA-
TIONAL WHO'S WHO OF PROFESSIONAL BUSINESS WOMEN in recognition of her
significant career achievements and contributions to society; and
WHEREAS, Gloria Ciolli has, in addition, been called upon to contrib-
ute her time and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and
has always given of herself unstintingly; and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community, and have shown a long
and sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, have earned the recognition and applause of all the citizens
of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Gloria Ciolli upon the occasion of her designation by the Suffolk
County Women's Business Enterprise Coalition as a 2011 recipient of its
Linda Jasper/Sally Ann Slacke Memorial Award; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Gloria Ciolli.
