LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Mayor Edward Adler as he is honored by
Residents for a More Beautiful Port Washington at its 44th Annual Gala
on March 23, 2012

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that the quality and
character of life in the communities of New York State are reflective of
the concerned and dedicated efforts of organizations and individuals who
devote themselves to the welfare of the community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Mayor Edward Adler upon the occasion of his designation for special
honor by Residents for a More Beautiful Port Washington at its 44th
Annual Gala, to be held at The Clubhouse at Harbor Links on Friday,
March 23, 2012; and
WHEREAS, Residents for a More Beautiful Port Washington has been dedi-
cated to creating a strong, unified and sustainable community in Port
Washington and surrounding areas since 1968; and
WHEREAS, Each year, at its Annual Gala, Residents for a More Beautiful
Port Washington proudly honors those who work in support of its mission
and help to make Port Washington an outstanding community in which to
live and work; and
WHEREAS, Mayor Edward Adler, who is being recognized for his tireless
service as a member of the Board of Directors of the Port Washington
Library Foundation, truly merits this high honor; and
WHEREAS, A more than 30 year resident of Sands Point, Mayor Edward
Adler has distinguished himself first as a Sands Point Village Trustee
and now as Mayor of Sands Point; all of Port Washington benefits from
his indefatigable and invaluable service as a member of the Board of
Directors of the Port Washington Library Foundation; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Mayor Edward Adler as he is honored by Residents for a More
Beautiful Port Washington at its 44th Annual Gala on March 23, 2012; and
be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Mayor Edward Adler.
