LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Detective Edward B. Kehoe, Jr. upon the
occasion of his designation as recipient of the NYIT Outstanding Recog-
nition Award on April 18, 2012

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and honor
those distinguished officers and citizens who would devote themselves to
public service, demonstrating great courage and diligence in providing
for the care and welfare of the citizens of their communities and this
great Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Within every community of the State of New York there are
certain individuals who, by virtue of their commitment and dedication,
command the respect and admiration of their community for their exem-
plary contributions and service on behalf of others; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Detective
Edward B. Kehoe, Jr. upon the occasion of his designation as recipient
of the NYIT Outstanding Recognition Award, to be celebrated at the NYIT
Police Appreciation Day on April 18, 2012; and
WHEREAS, A resident of North Bellmore, New York, Detective Edward B.
Kehoe, Jr. has served the Village of Old Westbury since 1997; and
WHEREAS, As a police officer, Edward B. Kehoe, Jr. led the department
in arrests and summonses regularly making over 50 arrests and issuing
over 300 summonses a year; and
WHEREAS, In the year prior to his promotion to the rank of Detective,
Edward B. Kehoe, Jr. made 87 arrests and issued over 400 summonses; and
WHEREAS, Since his promotion to Detective in 2008, Detective Edward B.
Kehoe, Jr. has had over a 90% case clearance rate; and
WHEREAS, Detective Edward B. Kehoe, Jr. is the ultimate professional;
he is tenacious, hard-working and totally committed to the mission to
protect and serve the community; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those dedicated
public servants who unselfishly devote their lives to the preservation
of order and the protection of others are worthy and due full praise for
their commitment and noble endeavors; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Detective Edward B. Kehoe, Jr. upon the occasion of his desig-
nation as recipient of the NYIT Outstanding Recognition Award on April
18, 2012; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Detective Edward B. Kehoe, Jr.
