LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Tara Slone-Goldstein and Wayne Gold-
stein upon the occasion of their designation for special recognition by
the UJA Federation of New York on May 9, 2012
WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Tara Slone-Goldstein and Wayne Goldstein have given not only
of their time and energies but also of their competence, intelligence
and leadership and consequently have been designated for special honor;
and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Tara Slone-
Goldstein and Wayne Goldstein upon the occasion of their designation for
special recognition by the UJA-Federation of New York, at its Westches-
ter Celebration 2012, to be held on Wednesday, May 9, 2012, at the Hamp-
shire Country Club in Mamaroneck, New York; and
WHEREAS, Tara Slone-Goldstein and Wayne Goldstein have been called
upon to contribute their time and talents to countless civic and chari-
table endeavors and have always given of themselves unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, Tara Slone-Goldstein and Wayne Goldstein have long shared a
deep commitment to the Jewish people as well as a dedication to the
welfare of the community at large; and
WHEREAS, Wayne Goldstein serves on the UJA-Federation's board and
executive committee as chair of the Planned Giving and Endowments
Department and the Board Nominating Committee; he is also a
UJA-Federation's past Westchester regional chair; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Wayne Goldstein is on the board and executive
committee of the JCC of Mid-Westchester and recently served on the alum-
ni board of Brandeis University; and
WHEREAS, Tara Slone-Goldstein serves on UJA-Federation's Population
Study Committee and is active in Larchmont-Mamaroneck Women's Philan-
thropy; and
WHEREAS, Together, Tara Slone-Goldstein and Wayne Goldstein have
chaired many UJA-Federation events in Westchester including Mitzvah Day,
Gift of Chanukah, and community couples events; and
WHEREAS, Tara Slone-Goldstein currently serves on the board of The
Jewish Education Project, where she oversaw its rebranding effort and is
actively involved in its new Teen Learning Initiative; she also serves
on the advisory committee of J-Teen Leadership; and
WHEREAS, A graduate of the Wexner Heritage Program, Tara Slone-Gold-
stein is the Westchester alumni delegate; and
WHEREAS, Professionally, Tara Slone-Goldstein is a principal of
Marketing Matters LTD, a branding and marketing consulting firm; and
WHEREAS, Wayne Goldstein is a principal of the Endicott Group, an
investment firm that invests in and advises financial institutions; and
WHEREAS, The Goldsteins have been active members of Westchester Jewish
Center and Solomon Schechter School of Westchester since 1997; and
WHEREAS, They are the proud parents of three sons, who are already
making a difference in the world; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of their community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Tara Slone-Goldstein and Wayne Gold-
stein have stood constant in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by individuals
for the benefit of others which Tara Slone-Goldstein and Wayne Goldstein
have displayed throughout their lives; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Tara Slone-Goldstein and Wayne Goldstein upon the occasion of
their designation for special recognition by the UJA-Federation of New
York; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Tara Slone-Goldstein and Wayne Goldstein.
