LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Achilles Perry upon the occasion of his
designation for special recognition by Brooklyn Technical High School
Alumni Foundation

WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made signif-
icant contributions to the quality of life therein; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Achilles Perry upon the occasion of his designation for special recogni-
tion by Brooklyn Technical High School Alumni Foundation, to be cele-
brated on Thursday, June 7, 2012, in New York City; and
WHEREAS, The Brooklyn Tech Alumni Foundation was formed in 1983; since
then it has brought Tech graduates together to enhance and support
excellence at the school that has shaped their lives; the mission of the
Foundation is to support Brooklyn Technical High School as the premier
specialized high school for science, technology, engineering and math-
ematics by harnessing the intellectual and financial power of Tech alum-
ni; and
WHEREAS, A founder of Brooklyn Technical High School Alumni Founda-
tion, Achilles Perry was President of the organization from 1983 to 2011
and continues to serve on the Board of Directors; and
WHEREAS, A 1958 graduate of Brooklyn Technical High School, Achilles
Perry has had successful careers in consulting, management and real
estate; among one of his current ventures is the New York restaurant
Pylos; and
WHEREAS, A true asset to society, Achilles Perry's distinguished
record merits the recognition and respectful tribute of this Legislative
Body; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Achilles Perry upon the occasion of his designation for special
recognition by Brooklyn Technical High School Alumni Foundation; and be
it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to honor Achilles Perry.
