LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Patricia Flemma Donato, R.Ph. upon the
occasion of her designation by the National Association of Boards of
Pharmacy as the recipient of its 2012 Lester E. Hosto Distinguished
Service Award

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that individuals who
distinguish themselves in their profession and in service to their
community merit the highest commendation; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and fully in accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Patricia Flemma Donato, R.Ph. upon the occasion of her designation by
the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy as the recipient of its
2012 Lester E. Hosto Distinguished Service Award; and
WHEREAS, Patricia Flemma Donato was honored at the National Associ-
ation of Boards of Pharmacy's Annual Awards Dinner on May 22, 2012; and
WHEREAS, Each year, the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy
(NABP), a professional organization which supports the state boards of
pharmacy in creating uniform regulations to protect public health,
recognizes dedicated members for their diligent efforts and dedication
to NABP and the pharmacy profession; and
WHEREAS, The Lester E. Hosto Distinguished Service Award, NABP' s
highest honor, is presented to individuals whose contributions to the
protection of the public health support and greatly further the goals
and objectives of the Association; and
WHEREAS, Patricia Flemma Donato truly merits such recognition; and
WHEREAS, She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from
Union University, Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences; and
WHEREAS, Patricia Flemma Donato currently serves as a member of the
New York State Board of Pharmacy, a position she has held since 1997;
since 1995, she has also served as a Member and President of Capital
Pharmacy Consultants, LLC, and as ASA Consultants' Senior Consultant;
and
WHEREAS, Previously, she worked for 16 years at Rite Aid Corporation;
while at Rite Aid Corporation, from 1979 to 1988, she advanced from
Pharmacy Manager to Pharmacy District Supervisor to Director of Profes-
sional Placement; from 1988 to 1995, she was the Pharmacy Division
Manager at Rite Aid and, in 1995, she became Rite Aid's Market Manager;
and
WHEREAS, Patricia Flemma Donato has been a valued and active member of
NABP, providing her experience while serving on many of the Associ-
ation's task forces and committees, including the 2010-2011 Committee on
Law Enforcement and Legislation where she served as Chair, the 2008-2009
Task Force on Uniform Prescription Labeling Requirements, the 2006-2007
Task Force on Standardizing Student Pharmacist Experiential Require-
ments, and the 2005-2006 Task Force on Model Regulations for Long-Term
Care; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Patricia Flemma Donato, R.Ph. upon the occasion of her designation
by the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy as the recipient of
its 2012 Lester E. Hosto Distinguished Service Award; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Patricia Flemma Donato, R.Ph.
