LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending the Parent Coordinators of Brooklyn,
New York, upon the occasion of celebrating the 1st Annual 21st Senatori-
al District Parent Coordinators Appreciation Day
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and pay
just tribute to the Parent Coordinators in each school directly respon-
sible for supporting families and supporting parent involvement and
strengthening the educational system of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in keeping with its time-ho-
nored traditions, it is the intent of this Legislative Body to commend
Jo-Ann Lee, Parent Coordinator of Brooklyn, New York, upon the occasion
of celebrating the 1st Annual 21st Senatorial District Parent Coordina-
tors Appreciation Day; and
WHEREAS, On Friday, March 30, 2012, Healthfirst hosted an appreciation
breakfast at Crystal Manor honoring these distinguished individuals;
this year's theme was "Family Engagement in Your Child's Education"; and
WHEREAS, It is said that comprehensive parent partnerships make
certain that every school develops and implements an effective plan for
parental and family engagement, ensuring a family friendly school
climate in cooperation with an academically enriched environment for
both teachers and students; and
WHEREAS, The successful sharing of ideas, enriching school districts
and maintaining specific roles of Jo-Ann Lee and Parent Coordinators
throughout Brooklyn, New York, including conducting outreach to get
other parents involved in school life and supporting school activities,
are essential in the community; and
WHEREAS, Jo-Ann Lee, Parent Coordinators, administrators, teachers and
support staff are all committed to ensuring academic success and togeth-
er look forward to working toward excellent academic growth; and
WHEREAS, The 21st Senatorial District Parent Coordinators Appreciation
Day provides an opportunity to recognize Jo-Ann Lee, and the significant
contributions to the quality of life and the progression of our educa-
tional system and for all people to gain a greater appreciation of the
role Parent Coordinators will continue to play in our society; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is pleased to have this opportunity to
recognize such a respectable and dedicated group of parents like Jo-Ann
Lee who foster pride in education and exemplify family engagement that
represents and strengthens the fabric of the people and the State of New
York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Jo-Ann Lee, upon the occasion of celebrating the 1st Annual 21st
Senatorial District Parent Coordinators Appreciation Day; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Jo-Ann Lee.
