LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring David Schmidt upon the occasion of his
designation by the Merrick Chamber of Commerce as the recipient of its
2012 Merchant of the Year Award on June 18, 2012

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend the leaders of commerce and industry whose accomplishments
contribute to the economic health and prosperity of the communities of
the State of New York and individuals whose purposeful endeavors, as
involved members of the community, enhance the quality of life therein;
and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern and fully in accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
David Schmidt upon the occasion of his designation by the Merrick Cham-
ber of Commerce as the recipient of its 2012 Merchant of the Year Award;
and
WHEREAS, David Schmidt will be honored by the Merrick Chamber of
Commerce for his dedication and service to the Merrick community at the
Chamber's Annual Merchant and Professional of the Year Dinner, to be
held at the RS Jones Restaurant in Merrick on Monday, June 18, 2012; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is proud to recognize David Schmidt for
his commitment and contributions to Merrick and its quality of life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when the noble
aims and accomplishments of individuals such as David Schmidt are
brought to our attention it is appropriate to publicly proclaim and
commend them for the edification and emulation of others; now, there-
fore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor David Schmidt upon the occasion of his designation by the Merrick
Chamber of Commerce as the recipient of its 2012 Merchant of the Year
Award on June 18, 2012; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to David Schmidt.
