LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Sister Gail A. Waring, RSM upon the
occasion of her designation for special recognition on Thursday, June
21, 2012

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Sister Gail A. Waring, RSM has given not only of her time and
energies but also of her competence, intelligence and leadership and
consequently has been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Sister Gail A.
Waring, RSM upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition
by The Sisters of Mercy of the America's Northeast Community and the
Board of Trustees of Circles of Mercy, to be celebrated at their "A
Taste of Mercy" Gala on Thursday, June 21, 2012 at Carmella's Banquet
House in Rensselaer, New York; and
WHEREAS, Sister Gail A. Waring, RSM has been called upon to contribute
her time and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has
always given of herself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, Sister Gail A. Waring is the current Vice President of
Mission Services at St. Peter's Health Partners; and
WHEREAS, In addition, she is a former member of Circles Of Mercy's
Board of Trustees; and
WHEREAS, Sister Gail A. Waring has been a longtime supporter of commu-
nity-health planning at St. Peter's Health Services, along with the
Neighborhood Based Alliance, the Healthy Capital District Initiative
(HCDI) and other organizations; and
WHEREAS, Her work has resulted in the creation of numerous new or
expanded health services including school-based dental programs, enroll-
ment programs for public health insurance applicants, neighborhood-based
addiction recovery services, pediatric care and dental services; and
WHEREAS, With the support of the leadership of St. Peter's Health Care
Services, Sister Gail A. Waring has also protected vulnerable popu-
lations by developing St. Peter's Charity Care program which enables
more than one thousand St. Peter's patients to receive free or subsi-
dized health services each year; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Sister Gail A. Waring has stood
constant in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Sister Gail A. Waring has displayed
throughout her life; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Sister Gail A. Waring, RSM upon the occasion of her designation
for special recognition on Thursday, June 21, 2012; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Sister Gail A. Waring, RSM.
