LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Donald E. Fane upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of the Frank W. Kennedy Award by the Lansing-
burgh Boys and Girls Club on September 21, 2012

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Donald E. Fane has given not only of his time and energies
but also of his competence, intelligence and leadership and consequently
has been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Donald E. Fane
upon the occasion of his designation as recipient of the Frank W.
Kennedy Award by the Lansingburgh Boys and Girls Club to be celebrated
at its Frank W. Kennedy Memorial Dinner on Friday, September 21, 2012,
at The Franklin Terrace Ballroom, Troy, New York; and
WHEREAS, This year also marks the 75th Anniversary of the Lansingburgh
Boys and Girls Club; since 1937, this valuable club has provided a heal-
thy environment of social, educational and recreational programs for
boys and girls, ages six to 18; it also serves as a community center for
many organizations and events; and
WHEREAS, The auspicious Frank W. Kennedy Award memorializes the
contributions of its former Board President to the youth of Lansingburgh
by honoring individuals who exemplify the characteristics which Mr.
Kennedy embodied such as integrity, generosity and loyalty to the commu-
nity; and
WHEREAS, This year's honoree, Donald E. Fane, is the Director and Past
President of the Board and is being recognized for his lifelong affil-
iation, commitment and devotion to the Lansingburgh Boys and Girls Club;
and
WHEREAS, Donald E. Fane graduated from Lansingburgh High School in
1978, and Hudson Valley Community College in 1980; and
WHEREAS, Upon graduation, he was hired by Warren W. Fane, Inc., Sand,
Gravel, Excavating and Trucking Contractor, as Vice President of Sales
and Operations; five years later, he founded Fane Concrete, Inc., and
then one year later, Fane Asphalt, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, In 1994, Donald E. Fane served as Vice President of C.D.
Perry and Sons, a Heavy Civil and Marine Contractor, followed by Presi-
dent of King Road Materials, Inc., an Asphalt and Paving Company in
1995; and
WHEREAS, In 2000, Donald E. Fane became the President of Clemente
Latham Concrete, as well as Senior Vice President of Callanan Indus-
tries, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, Donald E. Fane has been called upon to contribute his time
and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has always
given of himself unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, He has been the recipient of countless awards, such as the
1999 Uncle Sam Citizen of the Year Award; Friends of 112th Street 2000
Humanitarian Award; 2003 Humanitarian Award from Sunny Side Center; the
Troy Police Benevolent Association 2003 Gold Shield Award; and the 2006
Rensselaer County Good Scout Award; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Donald E. Fane has stood constant in
dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an individ-
ual for the benefit of others which Donald E. Fane has displayed
throughout his life; and

WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the wellbeing and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Donald E. Fane upon the occasion of his designation as recipient
of the Frank W. Kennedy Award by the Lansingburgh Boys and Girls Club;
and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Donald E. Fane.
