LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION memorializing Governor Andrew M. Cuomo to
proclaim Thursday, March 10, 2011 as Histotechnology Professionals Day
in the State of New York

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to commend and pay
tribute to those vital programs throughout the State of New York whose
purposeful endeavors serve to enhance the quality of life for their
communities; and
WHEREAS, The health of the citizens of the State of New York is a
major concern and responsibility of this State and all health profes-
sionals serving the people of New York; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to memorialize Governor
Andrew M. Cuomo to proclaim Thursday, March 10, 2011 as Histotechnology
Professionals Day in the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Professionals in histotechnological sciences are dedicated to
the highest standards of conduct, and are committed to maintaining and
improving society through lifelong learning, credentialing and personal
commitment; and
WHEREAS, Professionals in clinical histotechnology in New York State
are licensed by the Department of Education and are formally educated to
perform cutting edge procedures, and
WHEREAS, Histotechnologists, through skillful application of sophisti-
cated laboratory techniques, enable the seemingly invisible world of
tissue structures to become visible under the microscope; and
WHEREAS, The search to unlock the secrets held by these structures
reaches into many fields, including veterinary, pharmaceutical and
industry research and cause histotechnologists to work collaboratively
with scientists, anatomists, chemists and others in the allied health
field; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to commend those
professionals whose commitment and dedication enhance the health and
welfare of the people of New York State and this great Nation; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
memorialize Governor Andrew M. Cuomo to proclaim Thursday, March 10,
2011 as Histotechnology Professionals Day in the State of New York; and
be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to The Honorable Andrew M. Cuomo, Governor of the State of New
York.
