LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Imperial Commandress Ruth Mayfield
Ellerbe as she is honored by the Imperial Court, Daughters of Isis and
the Ancient Egyptian Arabic Order Nobles of the Mystic Shrine, Prince
Hall Affiliation

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life are reflective of the concerned and dedi-
cated efforts of individuals and organizations which devote themselves
to the welfare of others; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern and fully in accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to recognize
and commend Ruth Mayfield Ellerbe upon the occasion of her designation
for special honor by the Imperial Court, Daughters of Isis and the
Ancient Egyptian Arabic Order Nobles of the Mystic Shrine, Prince Hall
Affiliation; and
WHEREAS, A Testimonial Banquet Weekend will be held in Ruth M.
Ellerbe's honor on Thursday, April 19th, 2012 through Sunday, April
22nd, 2012 at Harrah's Hotel, Atlantic City, New Jersey, during which
she will fittingly be recognized for her outstanding achievements and
contributions within the Masonic organizations, the Imperial Court,
Daughters of Isis, and her community; and
WHEREAS, The Imperial Court, Daughters of Isis, is a charitable and
benevolent organization which stresses the development of powerful lead-
ers, encourages health awareness among youth and adults, provides
services to help disabled and senior citizens, provides for effective
networking among its members and other organizations, recognizes and
celebrates the historic and current achievement of African American
women, exerts positive influence and utilizes the tool of role modeling
for youth, teenage mothers, high school and college students, and
disseminates information for educational opportunities and career plan-
ning to youth and young adults; and
WHEREAS, Ruth M. Ellerbe was inducted into the Imperial Court, Daugh-
ters of Isis' Abu-Bekr Court No. 74, Brooklyn, New York in 1976 and
since then, she has used her love for the order as a catalyst which led
her to achieve many goals personally, professionally, and within the
order; and
WHEREAS, Ruth M. Ellerbe has been recognized many times and has
received such honors as the Black Achievers in Industry Award and a U.S.
Congressional Record Award, presented by Congressman Adolphus Towns, as
well as numerous community service accolades; and
WHEREAS, Over the years, Ruth M. Ellerbe has held many offices in the
Imperial Court, Daughters of Isis Community; she is a Past Imperial
Deputy for the Desert of New York; Past Co-Regional Directress, Imperial
Court, Daughters of Isis; and was honored as Past Worthy Matron of Chap-
ter No. 54, Order of the Eastern Star, New York State, Prince Hall
Affiliation; and
WHEREAS, The title of Imperial Commandress, Imperial Court Daughters
of Isis was bestowed upon Ruth Mayfield Ellerbe in 2011; and
WHEREAS, Also in 2011, Ruth M. Ellerbe was honored as the Honorary
State Loyal Lady Ruler, Order of the Golden Circle New York State Assem-
bly, Auxiliary to the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry,
Northern Jurisdiction and was recognized, as well, as the Honorary
"Golden Girl," Order of the Golden Circle New York State Assembly,
Auxiliary to the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry,
Southern Jurisdiction; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such commitment, dedication and accomplishment are brought to

our attention, they should be recognized and extolled for the edifica-
tion and emulation of others; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to,
with great pride, recognize Imperial Commandress Ruth Mayfield Ellerbe
for her outstanding achievements and service as the Imperial Court,
Daughters of Isis and the Ancient Egyptian Arabic Order Nobles of the
Mystic Shrine, Prince Hall Affiliation pays tribute to her during a
special Testimonial Banquet Weekend being held in her honor on Thursday,
April 19th, 2012 through Sunday, April 22nd, 2012; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Imperial Commandress Ruth Mayfield Ellerbe.
