LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Semifinalists Leon Etienne and
Romy Low upon the occasion of their outstanding performance on "Ameri-
ca's Got Talent"

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize those
artistically gifted individuals from the State of New York who embody
the true American spirit while pursuing their dreams with an uncommon
dedication and determination; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is extremely proud to
congratulate Semifinalists Leon Etienne and Romy Low upon the occasion
of their outstanding performance on "America's Got Talent"; and
WHEREAS, The performance of Illusionist Leon Etienne and Romy Low will
be recognized on Friday, October 11, 2013, at the Stanley Theater and
Performing Arts Center; and
WHEREAS, An accomplished Magical Arts Performer, Leon Etienne's inter-
est in the art of magic began at the young age of 12; today, he has over
a decade of experience, and has performed for thousands of audiences, in
hundreds of different venues; and
WHEREAS, An established choreographer from Melbourne, Australia, Romy
Low has assisted numerous international illusionists; with a fun and
playful personality, coupled with undeniable talent, she truly adds
charisma and sass to all of Leon Etienne's shows; and
WHEREAS, Performing together professionally for over eight years, Leon
Etienne and Romy Low successfully auditioned for Season 8 of "America's
Got Talent"; and
WHEREAS, Through the beauty and mystery of close-up magic, combined
with grand illusions, creative theatrical effects, and a rock and roll
edge, the duo made it to the competition's Semifinals; and
WHEREAS, Leon Etienne and Romy Low now stand with just pride in
assessing their achievements, recognizing the value of their experience,
the satisfaction of their labors and the joy of their accomplishments;
they are appreciative of the support of their family and community, and
eager to face the challenge of new experiences; and
WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body that when talented
individuals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our
attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens
of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Semifinalists Leon Etienne and Romy Low upon the occasion
of their outstanding performance on "America's Got Talent"; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Leon Etienne and Romy Low.
