LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Andrew Henriques upon the occasion
of receiving the Arrow of Light Award, the highest of Cub Scout honors,
on February 1, 2014

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body, in accord with its
long-standing traditions, to honor the youth of today, and leaders of
tomorrow, whose character and achievements best exemplify the ideals and
values cherished by this great State and Nation; and
WHEREAS, Andrew Henriques, a member of Cub Scout Pack 246, in Mineola,
New York, through his diligence and vigorous efforts, will receive the
highest of Cub Scout honors, the Arrow of Light Award at the annual Blue
and Gold Banquet, on Saturday, February 1, 2014, at the Irish American
Center in Mineola; and
WHEREAS, To earn the Arrow of Light Award, Andrew Henriques demon-
strated his outstanding commitment and strong character through meeting
multiple activity, knowledge and skill requirements; and
WHEREAS, Andrew Henriques is encouraged to continue with Scouting, in
recognition of the importance of building the personal resources neces-
sary to emerge as a leader, equipped to meet the challenges of our
complex society; and
WHEREAS, America has achieved her greatest heights of glory through
the dedication, determination and tireless efforts of the outstanding
citizens of this Nation; and
WHEREAS, It is only with the continued diligence and devotion of our
youth, tomorrow's leaders, that America will maintain her glory; and
WHEREAS, The Boy Scouts of America and its members are dedicated to
the development of character and leadership in the youth of this Nation;
and
WHEREAS, Andrew Henriques is a credit to his family, school, communi-
ty, and his State and Nation, and it is certain that his future will be
filled with accomplishments of equal importance; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Andrew Henriques upon the occasion of receiving the Arrow
of Light Award, the highest of Cub Scout honors; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Andrew Henriques.
