LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commemorating the 75th Anniversary of the Free-
port Marine Supply, and commending owner Irwin Ross for special recogni-
tion

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize the
achievements of those individuals and businesses which substantially
contribute to the economic vitality of their communities and the entire
Empire State; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is honored to acknowledge those busi-
nesses within the State of New York which distinguish themselves through
outstanding professional behavior, innovation, and enduring commitment
to the community; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commem-
orate the 75th Anniversary of the Freeport Marine Supply, and commending
owner Irwin Ross for special recognition; and
WHEREAS, Freeport Marine Supply has remained a top contender with a
proven track record in the boating industry for 75 years; its business
has been catering to the boater's every need, establishing a store that
has grown with the industry and the people who love it; and
WHEREAS, Founded by his father as a family business in 1939, Irwin
Ross is the second generation to take the helm; he credits his father's
strong work ethic and business acumen to the success of Freeport Marine
Supply; after 75 years, it is still a thriving business within the
recreational boating industry; and
WHEREAS, One of the ingredients which makes Freeport Marine Supply so
successful is the large variety of merchandise available in stock, all
readily accessible to the customers in need; and
WHEREAS, Since 1939, the Freeport Marine Supply has effectively
carried out its mission of old world tradition and cutting edge technol-
ogy, and has demonstrated the culmination of its courteous profes-
sionals, attractive prices, and the large selection of inventory which
has kept the store satisfying their customers, children, and grandchil-
dren for more than seven decades; and
WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body acknowl-
edges this exceptional business and its contributions to the local and
State economies, fully confident that it will continue to enjoy the
sparkling successes it has experienced thus far; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the Freeport Marine Supply, and
commending owner Irwin Ross for special recognition; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Irwin Ross, owner, Freeport Marine Supply.
