LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Charles Comins upon the occasion of his
designation as Grand Marshal of the 2014 Camden Irish Parade

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
those individuals of true purpose and worthy accomplishment who work
diligently to preserve and celebrate their rich cultural heritage; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Charles "Chuck" Comins upon the occasion of his designation as Grand
Marshal of the 2014 Camden Irish Parade; he will have the privilege of
leading this grand event, now in its 13th year, on Saturday, March 22,
2014, in Camden, New York; and
WHEREAS, Chuck Comins was selected as the 2014 Grand Marshal in recog-
nition of his demonstrated commitment to and support of the Camden Irish
Parade, as well as his stature as a well-respected citizen of his commu-
nity; and
WHEREAS, Chuck Comins was born and raised in Camden; it has been his
great pleasure to watch his children and, now, his grandchildren grow up
in the town he loves; and
WHEREAS, Chuck Comins worked for many years in Utica, New York, as a
civil engineer for the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Proud of his Irish heritage, Chuck Comins, along with his
wife of many years, Margaret, have traveled to Ireland more than once,
visiting with extended family, and learning about Irish traditions; and
WHEREAS, A fitting choice for Grand Marshal of the 2014 Camden Irish
Parade, Chuck Comins embodies the spirit and the cherished ideals and
values of Irish-Americans across this great State and Nation; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Charles Comins upon the occasion of his designation as Grand
Marshal of the 2014 Camden Irish Parade; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Charles Comins.
