LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Leslie H. Tayne, Esq. upon the occasion
of her designation as a 2014 Long Island Center for Business and Profes-
sional Women Achiever
WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
outstanding individuals who distinguish themselves through their excep-
tional performance, attaining unprecedented success and the highest
level of personal achievement; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Leslie H. Tayne, Esq. upon the occasion of her designation as a 2014
Long Island Center for Business and Professional Women Achiever; this
auspicious occasion will be celebrated at the Center's 35th Annual
Achievers' Awards Gala on Wednesday, May 7, 2014; and
WHEREAS, For more than 35 years, the Long Island Center for Business
and Professional Women has been dedicated to advancing women in busi-
ness, industry and the professions; and
WHEREAS, The Long Island Center for Business and Professional Women
celebrates and honors women who have made significant contributions in
their fields, are leaders, mentors, and who have opened doors for other
women to help foster their rise in business, the professions and in
their community; and
WHEREAS, Leslie H. Tayne, Esq. has more than a decade of experience in
the practice area of consumer and business financial debt-related
services; in 2001, she launched the law firm Tayne Law Group, P.C.,
formerly known as Law Offices of Leslie H. Tayne, P.C., which concen-
trates in the unique practice area of debt resolution and non-bankruptcy
strategies for consumers, small business owners, and professionals who
are in need of help with managing current finances; and
WHEREAS, As one of the only practices in New York State concentrating
in debt management, debt resolution and bankruptcy avoidance, Leslie H.
Tayne, Esq. and her firm deliver comprehensive consulting and support
services for clients in all areas of debt, including credit cards, unse-
cured loans, lines of credit, and consumer based loans, as well as busi-
ness and student loan matters; and
WHEREAS, Highly accomplished in negotiation and settlements with large
national banks, credit unions, collection agencies and multiple creditor
legal representatives, Leslie H. Tayne, Esq.'s mission is to reshape
debt resolution alternatives by giving clients a supportive and reliable
environment built on experience, trust, and results, which will not only
relieve clients of the stress from debts but also the burden of the
never-ending debt cycle; and
WHEREAS, Since its establishment, Leslie H. Tayne, Esq.'s practice has
grown tremendously with offices now in Manhattan, White Plains, and
Mount Kisco; and
WHEREAS, Prior to the launch of her practice, Leslie H. Tayne, Esq.
worked at a national debt settlement, consolidation and debt reduction
company where she acted as the Chief In-house Counsel, and at the Nassau
County Legal Aid Society as a staff attorney; furthermore, she achieved
a membership on the Moot Court Board through her attendance at Touro Law
School; and
WHEREAS, Leslie H. Tayne, Esq. has been the recipient of numerous
awards and accolades including being selected for the LONG ISLAND BUSI-
NESS NEWS' Leadership in Law Awards, honored as Touro Jacob D. Fuchsberg
Law Center's Alumni of the Month, chosen as one of LONG ISLAND BUSINESS
NEWS' Top 50 Most Influential Women in Business, and named among the
Businesses of The Year for 2012 by the Melville Chamber of Commerce; and
WHEREAS, Eager to share her counsel and expertise, Leslie H. Tayne,
Esq. is frequently asked to participate in speaking engagements, and is
often a guest presenter at colleges, bar associations, and not-for-pro-
fits; and
WHEREAS, Leslie H. Tayne, Esq. is often called upon to comment on vast
related money and debt topics and issues; she has interviewed with
numerous newspapers, television shows, magazines, etc., and has been a
guest expert blog contributor for Anderson Cooper's day-time talk show,
"Anderson Live"; and
WHEREAS, Continuing her commitment to public service, Leslie H. Tayne,
Esq. serves as a board member and Vice President of the Work and Family
Committee for Long Island Women's Agenda, a board member for the Jewish
Lawyers Association of Nassau County, and volunteers a substantial
amount of time as a puppy raiser for the Guide Dog Foundation of Smith-
town; in addition, she actively contributes her time to the Family
Services League of Huntington's Debt Counseling Division, and is a regu-
lar volunteer with Nassau County Bar's Mortgage Foreclosure Clinic; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their profession and community,
and have shown a long and sustained commitment to excellence, certainly
have earned the recognition and applause of all citizens of this great
Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Leslie H. Tayne, Esq. upon the occasion of her designation as a
2014 Long Island Center for Business and Professional Women Achiever;
and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Leslie H. Tayne, Esq.
