LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending Kidz4Causes upon the occasion of host-
ing its 2nd Annual Thumbs Up Awards on June 8, 2014, and paying tribute
to this year's honorees

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those organiza-
tions and individuals that are devoted to the welfare of the community
and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
Kidz4Causes upon the occasion of hosting its 2nd Annual Thumbs Up Awards
on June 8, 2014, and to pay tribute to this year's honorees; and
WHEREAS, Kidz4Causes is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to
making the world a better place by fundraising for various charities and
finding ways to give back to the community; and
WHEREAS, Partnering with the Community Foundation of Orange and Sulli-
van County, Kidz4Causes is able to educate children on fundraising and
children's rights, and create an outlet for children to be able to give
back to their community by harnessing the gift of giving; and
WHEREAS, Kidz4Causes has had the pleasure of donating to numerous
organizations, some of which include: Haiti, St. Jude's Children's
Research Hospital, Nora Cronin Presentation Academy, Habitat for Humani-
ty, Queen's Galley, Amnesty International, Ronald McDonald House, Great-
er Hudson Valley Family Health Center, Equality Now, Grace Smith House,
and Poughkeepsie Day School; and
WHEREAS, The evening's honorees include five wonderful collaborators:
Carol Lindeman, Volunteer; Juliana LoBiondo, LoBiondo Law; Melissa
McCoy, Elant; Dave Ouelette, Manager, Bon-Ton, Newburgh; and Ina
Tietjen, Hudson Valley SPCA and Bloomingdeal's Resale Store; and
WHEREAS, Kidz4Causes is an important part of the community, and stands
ready to continue its mission for many years to come; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to call attention to
organizations such as Kidz4Causes, which serve to bring people together
for the united purpose of actively pursuing improvements in their commu-
nities; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Kidz4Causes upon the occasion of hosting its 2nd Annual Thumbs
Up Awards, and to pay tribute to this year's honorees on June 8, 2014;
and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Natasha L. W. Vega, President, Kidz4Causes, and the aforemen-
tioned honorees.
