LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Harry Cashdollar, posthumously, upon the
occasion of his induction into the Port Jervis High School Alumni Hall
of Fame in October 2014

WHEREAS, Individuals who distinguish themselves in their profession and
in service to their community merit the highest commendation; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and fully in accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Harry Cashdollar, posthumously, upon the occasion of his induction into
the Port Jervis High School Alumni Hall of Fame; his outstanding accom-
plishments will be recognized in October 2014, at the 2014 Port Jervis
High School Alumni Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and Banquet; and
WHEREAS, The Port Jervis High School Alumni Hall of Fame annually
recognizes individuals educated in the Port Jervis City School District
who have achieved personal success and have made significant contrib-
utions to society, thereby serving as role models to inspire current and
future generations of Port Jervis students; and
WHEREAS, The late Harry Cashdollar, Class of 1954, played a role in
the Apollo space program as a senior engineer and group leader for
NASA's Saturn V rocket; and
WHEREAS, Harry Cashdollar had previously worked as an aerospace engi-
neer on navigation systems and anti-satellite weaponry for leading tech-
nology and aeronautics companies; and
WHEREAS, As a member of the 2014 Hall of Fame Class, Harry
Cashdollar's name and biography will be inscribed on a plaque and placed
on permanent display at Port Jervis High School, an ever-present remind-
er to students of the doors opened by a strong education; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those individ-
uals who enhanced the well-being and vitality of their community, and
demonstrated a long and sustained commitment to excellence, certainly
have earned the recognition and applause of all the citizens of this
great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Harry Cashdollar, posthumously, upon the occasion of his induction
into the Port Jervis High School Alumni Hall of Fame; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the family of Harry Cashdollar.
