LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Lieutenant Robert Prager, posthumously,
upon the occasion of his induction into the Port Jervis High School
Alumni Hall of Fame in October 2014
WHEREAS, Individuals who distinguish themselves in their profession and
in service to their community merit the highest commendation; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and fully in accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Lieutenant Robert Prager, posthumously, upon the occasion of his
induction into the Port Jervis High School Alumni Hall of Fame; his
outstanding accomplishments will be recognized in October 2014, at the
2014 Port Jervis High School Alumni Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and
Banquet; and
WHEREAS, The Port Jervis High School Alumni Hall of Fame annually
recognizes individuals educated in the Port Jervis City School District
who have achieved personal success and have made significant contrib-
utions to society, thereby serving as role models to inspire current and
future generations of Port Jervis students; and
WHEREAS, The late Lieutenant Robert Prager, Class of 1984, was a
flight surgeon in the United States Air Force, where his outstanding
work earned him ten medals/awards; and
WHEREAS, Lieutenant Robert Prager graduated from Chicago Medical
School in 1994, and did his residency from 1994 to 1999 at the Mayo
Clinic; he died at his home in Las Vegas in 2009; and
WHEREAS, As a member of the 2014 Hall of Fame Class, Lieutenant Robert
Prager's name, photo, and biography will be inscribed on a plaque and
placed on permanent display at Port Jervis High School, an ever-present
reminder to students of the doors opened by a strong education; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those individ-
uals who enhanced the well-being and vitality of their community, and
demonstrated a long and sustained commitment to excellence, certainly
have earned the recognition and applause of all the citizens of this
great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Lieutenant Robert Prager, posthumously, upon the occasion of his
induction into the Port Jervis High School Alumni Hall of Fame; and be
it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the family of Lieutenant Robert Prager.
