LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Daniel F. Butler upon the occasion of
his retirement after 35 years of distinguished service to the Saratoga
County Animal Shelter

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body seeks to acknowledge those individuals
whose professional lives and civic endeavors serve to enhance the stat-
ure of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Daniel F. Butler upon the occasion of his retirement after 35 years of
distinguished service as Director of the Saratoga County Animal Shelter,
to be celebrated Friday, March 1, 2013; and
WHEREAS, As Director, Daniel F. Butler rendered faithful, conscien-
tious and valuable service to the Animal Shelter; in this capacity, he
served with loyalty, honor and distinction; and
WHEREAS, In his official acts, Daniel F. Butler was governed by a keen
sense of duty and always showed a unique caring and humanity for
animals; and
WHEREAS, In his capacity as Director of the Saratoga County Animal
Shelter, Daniel F. Butler has worked with countless volunteers and
animal advocates; and
WHEREAS, Daniel F. Butler, after working from 1999 to 2006 for the
Saratoga County Highway Department, returned to the Animal Shelter and
oversaw the design and construction of the beautiful new shelter open-
ing; and
WHEREAS, During his tenure with the Saratoga County Animal Shelter,
Daniel F. Butler earned the admiration, esteem and affection of his
colleagues; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Daniel F. Butler upon the occasion of his retirement after 35
years of distinguished service to the Saratoga County Animal Shelter;
and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Daniel F. Butler.
