LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION congratulating Frank Garcia upon the occasion of
capturing the 152-pound Division II wrestling title at the New York
State Public High School Athletic Association Wrestling Championships

WHEREAS, Excellence and success in competitive sports can be achieved
only through strenuous practice, team play and team spirit, nurtured by
dedicated coaching and strategic planning; and
WHEREAS, Athletic competition enhances the moral and physical develop-
ment of the young people of this State, preparing them for the future by
instilling in them the value of teamwork, encouraging a standard of
healthy living, imparting a desire for success and developing a sense of
fair play and competition; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to congratulate Frank
Garcia upon the occasion of capturing the 152-pound Division II wrestl-
ing title at the New York State Public High School Athletic Association
Wrestling Championships on Saturday, February 28, 2015, at the Times
Union Center in Albany, New York; and
WHEREAS, A senior at Norwich High School, Frank Garcia won his second
New York State Wrestling Championship to complete his scholastic wrestl-
ing career; and
WHEREAS, During the title match, this talented young athlete secured a
dominant 6-1 decision victory over his opponent from Lewiston Porter
High School; and
WHEREAS, Frank Garcia's overall record is outstanding, and he was
loyally and enthusiastically supported by family, fans, friends and the
community at large; and
WHEREAS, The hallmarks of Frank Garcia from the opening match of the
season to participation in the championship, were a triumph of athletic
ability, good sportsmanship, honor, and scholarship, demonstrating that
this athlete is second to none; and
WHEREAS, Athletically and academically, Frank Garcia has proven
himself to be an unbeatable combination of talents, reflecting favorably
on his school; and
WHEREAS, Sports competition instills the values of teamwork, pride and
accomplishment, and Frank Garcia has clearly made a contribution to the
spirit of excellence which is a tradition of his school; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Frank Garcia upon the occasion of capturing the 152-pound
Division II wrestling title at the New York State Public High School
Athletic Association Wrestling Championships; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted Frank Garcia.
