LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Dr. Gerard Galarneau upon the occasion
of his designation for special recognition by the 2015 SULLIVAN COUNTY
DEMOCRAT Men at Work Edition

WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve the
best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration and
cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Gerard Galarneau has given not only of his time and ener-
gies but also of his competence, intelligence and leadership and conse-
quently has been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Dr. Gerard
Galarneau upon the occasion of his designation for special recognition
by the 2015 SULLIVAN COUNTY DEMOCRAT Men at Work Edition; and
WHEREAS, An esteemed resident of Goshen, New York, Gerard Galarneau is
Board-certified in urology and has extensive training in urological
conditions; he received his undergraduate degree from the State Univer-
sity of New York at Binghamton and earned his medical degree from New
York Medical College in Valhalla; and
WHEREAS, Furthermore, Dr. Gerard Galarneau completed his residency at
Beth Israel Medical Center in New York where he served as Chief Resi-
dent; and
WHEREAS, As Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Chief Medical Officer (CMO)
and Urologist, Dr. Gerard Galarneau has a strong and accomplished lead-
ership history with the Greater Hudson Valley Health System, comprised
of Catskill Regional Medical Center and Orange Regional Medical Center;
and
WHEREAS, Prior to his CMO position at Catskill Regional in January
2013, Dr. Gerard Galarneau held the positions of Chairman of the Insti-
tutional Review Board and Bioethics Committee, Chairman of the Medical
Executive Committee and Chairman of the Department of Urology while on
staff at Orange Regional; his urology practice also opened at Catskill
Regional in April of 2013; and
WHEREAS, A talented and skilled clinician, Dr. Gerard Galarneau brings
impressive credentials and experience as well as a new and revitalizing
vision and leadership to Catskill Regional; and
WHEREAS, Truly committed to the well-being of the community he so ably
serves, Dr. Gerard Galarneau is a Board Member of the Eva Fini Fund, an
organization supporting research in the Autism spectrum of disease known
as Rett Syndrome; and
WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his loving wife, Jennifer, and
their two beautiful daughters, Madison and Taylor, all of whom feel
privileged to be a part of his life and rejoice in his achievements; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of his professional and communi-
ty service, a period of constructive involvement, Dr. Gerard Galarneau
has stood constant in dignity, good grace and humor; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Dr. Gerard Galarneau upon the occasion of his designation for
special recognition by the 2015 SULLIVAN COUNTY DEMOCRAT Men at Work
Edition; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Dr. Gerard Galarneau.
