LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Thomas Michaels Zahradnick upon the
occasion of his designation as recipient of the Dream Maker Award by
Orange AHRC on April 9, 2015
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize that the
quality and character of life in the communities across New York State
are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those organiza-
tions and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare of the
community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Thomas Michaels Zahradnick upon the occasion of his designation as
recipient of the Dream Maker Award by Orange AHRC to be celebrated on
Thursday, April 9, 2015, at Anthony's Pier 9 in New Windsor, New York;
and
WHEREAS, Founded in 1954, Orange AHRC provides services and housing to
children and adults with developmental disabilities including those with
autism spectrum disorder, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, and intellectu-
al and learning disorders; its mission is to assist people with disabil-
ities in becoming respected and valued members of their communities; and
WHEREAS, Orange AHRC is focused on promoting community membership for
adults with disabilities in three major areas: employment, volunteerism,
and group affiliation; through active engagement in public life, the men
and women supported by the agency gain both respect and visibility; and
WHEREAS, Thomas Michaels Zahradnick is the Chief Executive Officer at
the Sound of Life Radio, and host of "The Sunday Brunch" and the daily
"Prayer Minute;" in addition, he hosts the monthly Sound of Life "Heart
2 Heart" podcast; and
WHEREAS, A broadcaster with over 30 years of experience in both tele-
vision and radio, Thomas Michaels Zahradnick is an inspirational and
motivational speaker to churches, businesses, and organizations, and has
a flare for incorporating humor into all he does; and
WHEREAS, A man of faith, Thomas Michaels Zahradnick is an ordained
minister and endorsed marketplace chaplain with US Missions Department
of the General Council of the Assemblies of God; he has served in a
variety of roles in churches including associate pastor, and has
extended his ministry beyond church walls to such areas as enter-
tainment, government, and corporate America; and
WHEREAS, Currently, this remarkable man serves on the Board of Trus-
tees for Valley Forge Christian College, the Board of Directors for the
Walter Hoving Home, and as Hudson Valley Sectional Secretary for the New
York District of the Assemblies of God; furthermore, he is a member of
the National Religious Broadcasters International Committee; and
WHEREAS, Thomas Michaels Zahradnick was instrumental in helping a
local man with special needs tour the Sound of Life Radio Station; he
has also provided mentorship and recording opportunities, while forging
an enduring friendship; and
WHEREAS, In addition, Thomas Michaels Zahradnick has volunteered his
time to educate administrators from Orange AHRC; and
WHEREAS, With him throughout has been his loving wife of 28 years,
Cathleen, who feels privileged to be a part of his life and rejoice in
his achievements; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly have earned the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Thomas Michaels Zahradnick upon the occasion of his designation as
recipient of the Dream Maker Award by the Orange AHRC; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted Thomas Michaels Zahradnick.
