LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commending the Long Island Hispanic Chamber of
Commerce upon the occasion of hosting its 10th Annual Latina Hat Lunch-
eon, and paying tribute to this year's honorees

WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality and character of life in the communities across New York
State are enhanced by the concerned and dedicated efforts of business
organizations and individuals that generously contribute to the welfare
of the community and its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend
the Long Island Hispanic Chamber of Commerce upon the occasion of host-
ing its 10th Annual Latina Hat Luncheon, and paying tribute to this
year's honorees, to be celebrated on Friday, May 15, 2015, at the Carl-
tun at Eisenhower Park, East Meadow, New York; and
WHEREAS, The Long Island Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (LIHCC) was
founded in 1988, to advance the business needs of Long Island's Hispanic
community, serving both Nassau and Suffolk County; and
WHEREAS, The goal of LIHCC is to provide its members with business
support, professional development workshops, advocacy programs, resource
materials and networking opportunities that will help their businesses
grow; in addition, this vital organization supports education, the arts,
as well as corporations and organizations with similar missions; and
WHEREAS, Each year, this esteemed organization is privileged to recog-
nize outstanding members of the community who have made significant
contributions to the Latina business community; this year's distin-
guished honorees include: Ellie Rizo, President's Award: CEO of the
Year, Jones Beach Hotel Group; Nina Castro McCann, Director of the Year,
Forchelli, Curto, Deegan, Schwartz, Mineo & Terrana, LLP; Rosa Arreaga
Negron, Business Woman of the Year, Armao, LLP; Yasim Cruz, Entrepreneur
of the Year, Image Marketing Inc.; Karen Chavez, Community Service Advo-
cate of the Year, NY Racetrack Chaplaincy; and Rosa Rhoden, Distinctive
Service Award, Vert Consulting; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those individ-
uals which enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown
a long and sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in
their profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of
all the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the Long Island Hispanic Chamber of Commerce upon the occasion
of hosting its 10th Annual Latina Hat Luncheon, and paying tribute to
this year's honorees; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the aforementioned honorees, and the Long Island Hispanic
Chamber of Commerce.
