LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION celebrating the life and distinguished career of
Nicholas D. Ezzo, renowned Restaurateur
WHEREAS, It is with great sorrow and deep regret that this Legislative
Body records the passing of Nicholas D. Ezzo, noting the significance of
his purposeful life and accomplishments; and
WHEREAS, Nicholas D. Ezzo distinguished himself in his profession and
by his sincere dedication and substantial contribution to the welfare of
his community; and
WHEREAS, Nicholas D. Ezzo of Vestal, New York, died on Sunday, Decem-
ber 28, 2014, at the age of 62; and
WHEREAS, Nicholas D. Ezzo was born in Schenectady, New York, to the
late Michael Ezzo, Sr. and Elizabeth Proper Marx; he graduated from St.
Peter's Academy in Troy, New York; and
WHEREAS, Nicholas D. Ezzo began his successful restaurant career with
Mangino's in Saratoga Springs, New York, and for 17 years he worked for
IHOP; and
WHEREAS, Putting his considerable talents to good use, Nicholas D.
Ezzo developed and opened his own concept restaurant, Christie's Steak-
house, managing the establishment for 16 years; in 1997, he franchised
an IHOP in Vestal, New York; and
WHEREAS, Known as a hard worker and loyal friend, Nicholas D. Ezzo
brought a zest and passion for life to everything he did; his enthusiasm
was contagious, and he genuinely loved people; and
WHEREAS, Nicholas D. Ezzo enjoyed sharing his joy of cooking and golf-
ing with his loving family and friends; and
WHEREAS, In addition to his parents, Nicholas D. Ezzo was predeceased
by one brother, Joseph Marx Jr., and two sisters, Mary Elise Marx, and
Kathleen Marie Wittman; he is survived by his devoted wife, Cathy Ezzo;
two daughters, Nicole Ezzo, and Christina Maria (Eric) Banks; two grand-
children, Addyson and Ashton Banks; one brother, Michael Ezzo; and many
cousins, nieces, and nephews; and
WHEREAS, Armed with a humanistic spirit and imbued with a sense of
compassion, Nicholas D. Ezzo leaves behind a legacy which will long
endure the passage of time and will remain as a comforting memory to all
he served and befriended; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
celebrate the life and distinguished career of Nicholas D. Ezzo, recog-
nizing his loving labors and purposeful life, and conveying its sincere
condolences to his beloved family; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the family of Nicholas D. Ezzo.
