LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION commemorating the 100th Anniversary of the Great
Neck Chamber of Commerce on April 30, 2015

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize the
achievements of those organizations which substantially contribute to
the economic vitality of their communities and the entire Empire State;
and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commem-
orate the 100th Anniversary of the Great Neck Chamber of Commerce which
was celebrated on Thursday, April 30, 2015, at a Gala event at Leonard's
Palazzo in Great Neck, New York; and
WHEREAS, The Great Neck Chamber of Commerce is an organization which
seeks to encourage and support new businesses and professional opportu-
nities, facilitate new partnerships and promote the growth of current
businesses in the community; and
WHEREAS, For the past century, this esteemed organization has worked
tirelessly to fulfill its mission of unifying the retail, commercial,
industrial and service businesses of Great Neck, as well as the insti-
tutions of the community and professional leaders to promote business
with the goal of increasing sales for retail and commercial business
establishments; and
WHEREAS, Comprised of members of the community and local business
leaders working together to promote economic growth and prosperity, the
Great Neck Chamber of Commerce has a long history of success, with many
milestones achieved through the dedication and commitment of its offi-
cers, board of directors, and membership; and
WHEREAS, Through offering an exchange of ideas, as well as support and
advocacy on behalf of its members, the Great Neck Chamber of Commerce
has fostered the growth and well-being of its membership, and has
enhanced the quality of life in the community; and
WHEREAS, A solid cornerstone of its region, the Great Neck Chamber of
Commerce will continue to serve as the leading resource for citizens and
local businesses for many years to come; and
WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body acknowl-
edges this exceptional organization and its contributions to the local
and State economies, fully confident it will continue to enjoy the spar-
kling success it has experienced thus far; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED. That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Great Neck Chamber of Commerce;
and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to the Great Neck Chamber of Commerce.
