LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Kerry G. Konopka upon the occasion of
her retirement after many years of distinguished public service to the
Town of Shawangunk

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and honor
those distinguished citizens who demonstrate great courage and diligence
in providing for the care and welfare of the citizens of their communi-
ties and this great Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Within every community of the State of New York there are
certain individuals who, by virtue of their commitment and dedication,
command the respect and admiration of their community for their exem-
plary contributions and service on behalf of others; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Kerry G. Konopka upon the occasion of her retirement after many years of
distinguished public service to the Town of Shawangunk, to be celebrated
with a Luncheon in her honor on Wednesday, May 27, 2015; and
WHEREAS, For the past 28 years, Kerry G. Konopka has rendered faith-
ful, conscientious and valuable service to the Town of Shawangunk, New
York; and
WHEREAS, Kerry G. Konopka began her illustrious career as Shawangunk
Justice Court Clerk on January 10, 1987; she will officially retire from
this esteemed position on May 29, 2015, after nearly three decades of
dedicated and unwavering service; and
WHEREAS, In her capacity as Court Clerk, Kerry G. Konopka served with
loyalty, honor and distinction; she has been hardworking, dependable and
efficient, always displaying the utmost professionalism, respect and
compassion for everyone with whom she came into contact; and
WHEREAS, During her tenure with the Town of Shawangunk, Kerry G.
Konopka earned the admiration, esteem and affection of her colleagues;
and
WHEREAS, With her throughout have been her husband, James, and their
son, Christopher, both of whom feel privileged to be a part of her life
and rejoice in her achievements; and
WHEREAS, The quality and character of life in this Nation, and in the
great State of New York, is reflective of the purposeful lives and good
works of those civic-minded community members who dedicate their lives
and careers to the service of others; and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
the Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Kerry G. Konopka upon the occasion of her retirement after many
years of distinguished public service to the Town of Shawangunk; and be
it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Kerry G. Konopka.
