LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Thierry Delatour upon the occasion of
his retirement after nearly 30 years of distinguished service to the
Port Authority of New York and New Jersey

WHEREAS, This Legislative Body seeks to acknowledge those individuals
whose professional lives and civic endeavors serve to enhance the stat-
ure of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Thierry Delatour upon the occasion of his retirement after nearly 30
years of distinguished service to the Port Authority of New York and New
Jersey, to be celebrated at a luncheon held in his honor on Wednesday,
January 13, 2016, at Bertucci's in Jersey City, New Jersey; and
WHEREAS, For the past three decades, Thierry Delatour rendered faith-
ful, conscientious and valuable service to the Port Authority of New
York and New Jersey; and
WHEREAS, Thierry Delatour began his career at the Port Authority of
New York and New Jersey in 1986 as a JFK Airport Gateway Agent, Terminal
4 International Arrivals; he rose through the ranks holding positions in
Management Engineering and Analysis, as Administrator of Airline
Programs at JFK Airport, Auditor, Supervisor of JFK Airport Bus Oper-
ations, and finally to the esteemed position of Senior Auditor; and
WHEREAS, Thierry Delatour served his country as a member of the United
States Navy from 1980-1986 on Active Duty and in the Navy Reserves from
1986-1989; and
WHEREAS, The recipient of numerous awards and commendations for his
outstanding service, in 1984, Thierry Delatour was honored with the
Expedition Medal from the United States Navy; and
WHEREAS, In 1993, he received the World Trade Center Exceptional
Service Award, the Management Budget Department (MBD) Departmental Award
for Excellence, and a Letter of Commendation for the World Trade Center
recovery efforts; and
WHEREAS, Thierry Delatour has tirelessly served his community through
his work as a member of the American Legion Post 1765; and
WHEREAS, In addition, this esteemed man has volunteered for several
organizations including the Gaskov Clerge Foundation which provides
medical resources and assistance in Haiti, the Port Authority of New
York and New Jersey Veteran Employee Resource Group - Suits for Vets,
and All Hands Volunteers, a 2010 Haiti Earthquake Recovery; and
WHEREAS, During his tenure with the Port Authority of New York and New
Jersey, Thierry Delatour served with professionalism and distinction,
earning him the admiration, esteem and affection of his colleagues; and
WHEREAS, With him throughout have been his wife of 20 years, Guilaine,
and their two daughters, Megan and Sydney, all of whom feel privileged
to be a part of his life and rejoice in his achievements; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Thierry Delatour upon the occasion of his retirement after nearly
30 years of distinguished service to the Port Authority of New York and
New Jersey; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Thierry Delatour.
