LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring the Just for Kids After School Program
of Grand Island, New York, upon the occasion of its designation as a
recipient of the School Age Program of the Year Award from the Child
Care Resource Network

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend those institutions of true purpose and high achievement whose
exemplary programs and accomplishment clearly demonstrate an enduring
pursuit of excellence in the education of the youth of the Empire State;
and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor the
Just for Kids After School Program upon the occasion of its designation
as a recipient of the School Age Program of the Year Award from the
Child Care Resource Network; this auspicious occasion was celebrated at
an event held at Samuel's Grand Manor in Williamsville, New York; and
WHEREAS, The Child Care Resource Network's School Age Program Award is
given to a child care provider who demonstrates an exceptional ongoing
commitment to professional development, consistently provides high-qual-
ity care and education, is responsive to the needs of children and fami-
lies, and is compliant with New York State School Age Child Care Regu-
lations; and
WHEREAS, For over two decades, Just for Kids has been a non-profit
organization offering enrichment programs to over 1,000 school-age chil-
dren in public and private schools throughout Western New York; its 150
staff members either hold degrees in education or are pursuing degrees
in this field; and
WHEREAS, Dedicated to raising the level of quality care for children
in the Grand Island School District, Just for Kids offers outstanding
programs at Kaegebein Elementary School, Huth Elementary School, and
Sidway Elementary School; and
WHEREAS, Using a creative and hands-on approach, this esteemed organ-
ization has crafted a before-and-after-school curriculum which helps
educate children in a well-organized and safe environment; and
WHEREAS, Under the able leadership of Director Kristina Kleeh, Just
for Kids has become known for its brilliance in education, as well as
for consistently demonstrating a commitment to professional development
for its staff; and
WHEREAS, True to its mission, Just for Kids will continue to provide
outstanding after school care to all of the students under its direction
for many years to come; and
WHEREAS, The School Age Program of the Year Award stands as a resolute
testimony to Just for Kids' high standards of excellence, its uncompro-
mising values, unparalleled dedication, and the special teamwork of its
family of students, parents and staff, who share common goals and uncom-
mon expectations; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor the Just for Kids After School Program upon the occasion of its
designation as a recipient of the School Age Program of the Year Award,
noting the significance of its accomplishment and recognizing the role
such effective schools play in shaping the quality of life in their
community, State and Nation; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Kristina Kleeh, Director, Just For Kids.
